Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why isn't my performance showing up in the performance lists/yearly lists?
A: Either the race wasn't run on a certified course or the race director hasn't submitted the proper paper work.  Feel free to contact the race director about this as well.

Q: Do I have to run a certain time/standard to set a record?
A: No, we accept ALL times that are run on certified courses

Q: Who do I have to contact about getting my race course certified?
A: Contact Rick Recker: 612-375-0805 or rick_recker@hotmail.com

Q: Where can I get the Minnesota Running Data Center Form?
A: We currently have only a paper version located here, which you need to mail in or fax. We are working on an online form so that we don't have to use the fax or mail version any more.

Q: Why is there an "a" or "u" or "p" next to my performance?
A: These are special markings which means: "A": Aided course, "U": Unverified, and "P": pending documentation.

Q: My time in the race was 15:49.3 why is it showing up as 15:50?
A: According to USATF Road Race Standards all times must be rounded up to the next second.

Q: In my race, I received two different finish times... an "actual finish time" and a
"net/chip time". Why don’t the two times match?
A: The actual finish time, which is also called the gun time, represents the time the starter started the race, up until the time you finished the race. Because there are many people at the starting line, once the race has officially started, there is a period of time before you cross the starting line. Your chip, however, signals a system when you actually crossed the starting line and when you cross the finish line. In other words, you could be parking your car when the race starts, cross the start line far behind everyone else and still place 1st in your age group. This all depends on if your chip time is faster than all the other competitors. For most people, unless you start at the very front (where most of the fastest runners stand), your gun and chip time will not match. For race placement, gun time is usually used. For awards and personal satisfaction, focus on your chip time.

Q: I believe that my time is wrong or isn't showing up, who can contact?
